This page begins with the fearless
crew 566 starting down Mt Phillips. We paused just over the top for
lunch and rest (which see). Then, it rained. You can see from the
pictures how good we were getting at dealing with wet weather. Then we
mosied on down to a campsite named Cyphers Mine. It had blacksmithing, a
mine tour, and, at night, the most fun ever had, the Original Cyphers
Mine Stomp!

Everyone is entitled
to their opinion.
(Why do I take corny pictures like this?) |

Sleeping beauty. |

Wet weather hiking. Here Crew 566 models the latest in fine,
water-resistant hiking attire. |

The blacksmithing was an interesting skill that
the crew did not know they had.
We made the popular 'S'
hook and Jas made a screwdriver. |
|

Matt and William stoke the coals. |
Slightly later, we met Michael By-the-Weigh, a
poor immigrant Irishman. He told us a bit about the rocks and
geology of the area (even pulling out a detailed USGS Geological
Map!) and then proceeded to take us on a mine tour to beat all
mine tours.
It was fun. It was dark. It was fun in the dark. |

|

Michael kept reassuring us that the mine had been inspected
for safety by some group that was important sounding... if you say
something enough you start to believe it. |

Hand-some picture, huh? |

The staff at Cyphers did more music with less
instrumentation... |

The staff... with Michael By-the-Weigh on triangle. |
|

Note the Minnesota clogger. We think he only won the
"toughest man" contest due to the vocal support of
Crew 566.
BTW: Note the old guy asleep on the floor (he came in early and
just sat down and went to sleep - amazing!). |
|

The crowd in the stomp put up their mini-mags in a sensitive
scene reminiscent of the quiet moments in most concerts you've
been to. |

What page would be complete without Jas doing something
photogenic? Here he fills in for Michael By-the-Weigh on
Triangle. Note the bullet holes in the sweatshirt. |
